ABSTRACT
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a new method that has been used in the treatment of neurological and psychiatric diseases and neurophysiological research. The aim of this review was to evaluate articles about TMS applications in child and adolescent psychiatry. “TMS”, “Adolescent depression”, “Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)”, “Tourette syndrome (TS)”, “Schizophrenia” and “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)” keywords were used to identify relevant studies. A total of 60 articles in Turkish and English were examined. Studies have shown that TMS can be used safely as an alternative treatment method for diseases such as treatment-resistant adolescent depression, TS, ASD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and schizophrenia when appropriate cases are selected. In child and adolescent psychiatry, TMS treatment should be kept in mind, especially in cases in which the patient does not respond to treatment. Longitudinal studies on this subject are needed.
